All is still well!

Summer is about over and I thought I'd update my blog.  It's been way too long.  :/  Life has been so busy. We moved into our new home and we love, love, love it!  It was a lot of work and truthfully we're still unpacking and sorting through years of "things", but it's been a worthwhile effort.  We often sit out on the back patio, watching our tall tomato plants (they are as tall as I am), and talk about how happy and thankful we are that we live here.  Our lives feel very much at peace.  We were happy in the apartment, but we feel especially thankful to have a house to call home.  There really is no place like home!

We've had so many adventures this summer that relate to home ownership.  Mom and I learned to use an electric drill, we learned that Heavenly Father helps us to move really heavy metal shelves when we pray for help, and we've learned that wasps and bees are not fun.  We cut down some really tall bushes and trees in the backyard and I got stung on the nose and it was quite the experience.  Poor mom would stand nearby, with the wasp spray as I cut down the branches saying, "Should I be running now?".  Besides our never ending adventures with bees, we planted fruit trees too.  It's been a summer full of learning experiences.

One of the best things that happened this summer was when we got our dog.  She's the best dog in the whole world!  She's so happy to see us and she's the best of therapists for anyone having a blue day. She makes us feel very loved!  Dad picked her out and I think she loves him best of all.  We're thankful for our new addition to the family.

Summer vacation is over now and I'm back to school.  My class is a fun one.  There is supposed to be 27 students, but I've only met 26 so far.  It's the biggest class I've ever had, but it's a good one.  They talk, and talk, and talk non-stop though.  I think they're going to be a good class though, but I'm still hoping they'll learn to listen better.  I came home this past Friday and went straight to bed.  I slept so long it surprised me.  I guess that tells how tiring my first week of school was.  It was good though.  The kids are worth every effort.  My goodness, they are cute!  They smile and giggle all the time and make my life pretty wonderful.  My favorite moments this year have been during our read alouds.  This group giggles and giggles and I just can't get enough of it.  It is adorable and it is so fun!  So...school is good!

I've been having my cancer check-ups often.  So far everything looks good.  I'm thankful that I'm still in REMISSION!!!!!  I see my cancer buddies often.  Some are in the final stages of their life now.  It makes me quite sad to see how cancer causes so much suffering.  I really hate it!  I'm thankful for what I learned, but I can't say that I will ever embrace and feel thankful for the disease.  I really think it is terrible.  It causes so much pain and suffering.  I look at my life differently though and that's a good thing.  Every day IS a blessing and every FRIEND, no matter their age, is a blessing TOO.  My hair is growing back too!  Yay!  I think it is going through a funny looking stage, but it's curly and I can get ready really fast in the morning so I'm glad to have it.

Another great thing that happened this summer was the completion of the Brigham City Temple.  We walked through it earlier this month and saw the beautiful rooms and gardens.  It was cute watching mom and dad, the day before their wedding anniversary, walking through the temple holding hands.  With all they've been through, they still love each other so much.  They really were something to see.  So cute!

Well.....that's all I have to say.  Life is good for us and I hope it is for you and yours too!  Adios!  :)
