My pre-op appointment went well today.  It was simple and easy.  They just took my temperature, pulse, blood pressure, had me fill out forms paying for the procedure, and forms about my health history.  Oh, and take another pregnancy test!  I've had so many of those lately it's a bit ridiculous.  So everything is set for tomorrow for my port placement.  The doctor will cut me open, stick it in, and then do an ultrasound to make sure it is placed correctly.  After I'm alert and I'm okay I'll be able to come home.

They said I'll need to fill a prescription for pain killers and that I'm supposed to have mom drive me home from the hospital.  I'll be in and out of the hospital the same day.  Whoo hoo!  I hope everything goes well and that I wake up quickly so I can come home as soon as possible!  Then I'll go to work the next day, if I am able to manage the pain, so I can go on our class field trip.  That should be interesting! :)

I hope the surgery and port don't hurt very much.  If all goes well I'll start chemo next Thursday.  After that I should have an idea of how chemo is going to make me feel.  It'll settle my nervousness to know what to expect and I'm hoping to have relief from knowing I can do this and that it's not so bad, or that I can handle it anyways.  I'm really grateful that everything is going quickly and that I'll be able to start treatment so soon after my diagnosis.  I know early treatment is the key to success so I'm happy about how quickly things are progressing.

School is going well too.  Slowly and surely I am getting everything done so I will be ready for the last day of school.  I still have a lot of work to do, which causes me stress, but I feel better every time I check another task off my list.  So, back to work I go!

I hope you are all doing well.  I'm feeling happy and I'm not sad at all.  Yay!  I'm just a little nervous about the surgery tomorrow.  I think this will hurt less than my tonsillectomy or at least I hope it will hurt less.  You could definitely pray for me to have no pain.  :)  Well, wish me luck.
