I'm happy today! That's the best news. Haven't cried all day and I'm hoping these good feelings stay for a long while. There isn't a lot of news to share, but I have two appointments on Thursday. I'll be going to get a PET scan, which is a type of CAT/CT scan, only it's for the whole body. They'll check out how extensive my cancer is. Hopefully it's localized in one area and not spread throughout. Hopefully the damage is minimal. They'll also do blood work.
I'm also meeting with the doctor who'll be helping me. He'll probably look for additional lumps, tell me about my type of cancer, and make plans for treatment. If I'm lucky the PET scan results will be available during my appointment. It's more likely that I'll have to wait a few days to learn the results of the tests.
So, that's the update. The best part is that I'm happy. I can't say that enough! I want my family to realize that, so they don't worry as much.
@ family - Remember you can share this info. with your kids. I just want to wait for awhile before sharing it on face book or with my co-workers and the community. I'd like to wait and find out more and adjust to this information before letting the cat out of the bag. I'm feeling open about discussing it, which is odd considering how private I usually am.
