My three month follow-up exam took place last week.  The doctor says that everything looks good still so hooray for that!  Now I just wait and go back again in three months.  That's the plan for the next three years, to have follow-up visits to make sure everything is well.  So far I'm doing great. Yay for that!

Mom is doing well too.  She's still in a lot of pain, but she's doing more and more every day.  She doesn't sit in bed feeling sorry for herself.  She gets up and works on things every day.  She has her blue moments, when she feels she isn't progressing fast enough, but overall I'd say that she is doing beautifully.  All of her doctor appointments have been positive as well.  They are happy with how she is healing and they always tell her that she has a wonderful, upbeat attitude.

Dad is doing well.  He tries to help mom as much as he can and he always goes out of his way to give her his kisses.  It's obvious that he loves her.  He is sooooo happy to be home.

We got a new puppy and her name is Gracie!  She's small and she looks like a little, white cotton ball.  Mom and dad call our kitten and puppy, "therapy pets" because they've been so good to us.  The cat does funny acrobatic moves that make dad laugh all the time, and the puppy seems smart and affectionate.  Now she's in basic training though.  We're hoping she masters potty training very soon.

Our family needs to stop having stressful events in our lives.  Recently Dianna, my oldest sister, had surgery on both feet.  One foot was amputated and the other was operated on.  She was very worried and sad prior to the surgeries, but she seems to be doing much better now.  When she talks, she sounds like her regular funny self and that makes us feel optimistic about her progress.  The surgeries seem to have been successful.  It was a worrisome time for all of us, but we are so thankful she is okay now.  We heard she will be leaving rehab in a few days, so we are encouraged with that bit of news.  We figure she MUST be doing REALLY well, if they are allowing her to go home.  Mom's reaction to the news was that of being worried though.  She kept saying, "Who's going to take care of her?"  Obviously she wants to be with her, and it hurts that she cannot be there.

Life at school is going well for me.  My class is super smart and they all scored really high on their most recent reading test.  I can tell they love me and I love them too, so work is great.  I really don't have much to complain about.  I just feel so thankful to be alive and I'm grateful for all of my friends and family.  Life would sure be awful without them.

As with any life, there are still stressful and hard times for us, but overall I'd say that despite the prevalent bumps in the road, we are all still happy and thankful for all of our blessings.  Each day REALLY is a blessing!
